Belonging Before Believing: creating a culture of welcome
Various Dates

For many people today, a sense of belonging to the church comes before believing in Jesus Christ.

The Belonging Before Believing workshop, being organised by the Mission Department, will take a very practical look at our church buildings and ourselves - how good a welcome we give to new people and how we help them feel at home with us. It will also look at accessibility issues. This is a useful workshop for any church in any setting and a good opportunity to stand back and review how other people see us.

The speaker for these events will be Mark Hope-Urwin. Mark comes with a wealth of experience as a former Executive with the John Lewis Partnership, and his current role as Director of Hospitality and Welcome at Birmingham Cathedral.

The day, which will be suitable for ministers, leaders and welcoming teams, will help churches to consider ways in which they can become more welcoming and help people to feel that they belong.

Cost: £20 per person including lunch

Days are planned for:

Thursday 27 May - Baptist House, Didcot. Click here to download information and booking form.

Wednesday 30 June – Blackley, Yorkshire. Click here to download information and booking form
